Dreaming of finding unique Yosemite
lodging? Then imagine yourself waking from the best sleep you've
ever had. You look around and smile as you note your surroundings;
rustic, yet beautifully so. The morning sun peeps through your window
and you hear birds singing and twittering over the distant sounds of lowing
cattle. You think it's only a dream but, then you remember - it's
real. It's Rancho Bernardo Bed and Breakfast.
A 40 acre cattle ranch,
Rancho Bernardo B & B is located in secluded Cathey's Valley, very
close to Highway 140 and only 10 minutes from Mariposa along the way to
magnificent Yosemite National Park. Expansive vistas of rolling hills,
dotted with ancient oak trees, Chinese rock walls, springs and grazing
livestock surround the ranch and guest houses making Rancho Bernardo more
like a resort than a B & B.
Rancho Bernardo is ideally
suited for area attractions including Yosemite National Park, the "ghost
town" of Hornitos, Lakes Bagby and McClure, gold panning, skiing as well
as river rafting on the mighty Merced River and a host of other activities.
We have two very unique
and affordable quarters to offer. The Guest House sleeps up
to six people comfortably while the Barn Suite is a cozy getaway
for one or two people. Both rooms enjoy private baths and entrances,
are beautifully appointed with designer plush bedding, down comforter, robes and include LOTS
of extras! To tour the rooms click here or on the buttons above.
"Thank
you for opening up your home and beautiful ranch to us. Thanks for letting
us sleep in your barn! We truly enjoyed meeting you and your family
and will definitely be back!"

See you in Hawaii."

Your innkeepers, Kathy and Barney
Lozares, take great pleasure in welcoming
guests to their ranch with warm smiles and goodies from the kitchen.
They live the creed of "western hospitality" and take pride in opening
their beautiful lodgings to visitors.
Native Californians, Barney
and Kathy raised their family in the Silicon Valley area of Santa Clara
County, where Barney operated an insurance brokerage in Mountain View and
Kathleen served as a fiscal officer for a large elementary school district.
Avid sailors for many years, they continue their membership in the St.
Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco.
Upon retirement the Lozares'
decided to retire near Yosemite National Park and were lucky enough to
chance upon the magical place that is now Rancho Bernardo B&B.
Now, they want to share this special place with you.
Take Highway 140 East from
Merced toward Yosemite, through the small farming town of Planada and continue
on Highway 140 for approximately another 13 miles to "Old Highway."
Turn right on "Old Highway" and continue for exactly 4 miles. Just
beyond where "Old Highway" intersects with School House Road is Rancho
Bernardo B&B located at 2617 Old Highway. (Look for lots of white
rail fencing on the left.)
